Eton Shon, age 22, studies at Harvard University with a concentration in Statistics. He studied Classical Voice and Opera in the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre-college Division with Jimmy Kansau. In 2016, Eton was named a California State Scholar of the Arts in the Dramatic Arts and in 2017, he was awarded First Prize in the American Fine Arts Festival Competition as well as First Prize in the American Protégé International Musical Talent Competition. In December 2017, Eton was invited to perform as a solo vocalist in Carnegie Hall. In 2018, Eton was named a California regional finalist for the National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition (NATS) and was also awarded the Hellen Elliot Award in the Pacific Musical Society Competition. Eton has participated in several summer music programs, including the Young Artists Vocal Program at the Tanglewood Institute and the Stanford Jazz Vocal Institute. Most recently, Eton was invited to participate in The Kennedy Center’s Washington National Opera Institute, where he was selected to perform on the Millenium Stage in July 2018.
In addition to classical music, Eton also has a deep passion for musical theater. He has performed the roles of Sky Masterson in “Guys and Dolls”, Leo Frank in “Parade”, Caldwell Cladwell in “Urinetown” and Herr Schultz in “Cabaret”.
